Before you connect

If your device does not appear

  1. Check that the device is powered on, charged and ready for Bluetooth discovery.
  2. Turn on Bluetooth in your phone’s settings.
  3. On iOS, open Settings → Privacy & Security → Bluetooth and allow ctrl. On Android, open Settings → Apps → ctrl → Permissions and allow Nearby devices. On Android 11 and earlier, allow Location for Bluetooth scanning and turn on the phone’s Location setting.
  4. Keep the device near your phone and retry connecting in the app. Disconnect it from other phones first if it is already in use.
  5. If the app reports a missing service or characteristic, include that exact message when contacting support. It may indicate incompatible firmware.

When disconnected, the app may show the last saved snapshot. Connect and sync before relying on its displayed status.

Updates and beta access

If you installed through TestFlight, open TestFlight → ctrl to install the latest available build. Beta builds expire after 90 days. An invitation is required while testing is private. App Store availability will be announced when a public release is approved.

For Android internal testing, join using the provided Google Play opt-in link with your invited Google account. Install or update ctrl through Google Play. An internal test is not listed in public search.

Privacy and deleting data

An account is optional for local device use. Manage or delete your account at Account. See the privacy policy for details about Bluetooth, local storage, website requests and support messages, or go directly to your privacy choices and deletion instructions.
